Since 1986, Dennis has Directed/Choreographed for Off-Broadway, Regional Theatres, Universities, Dinner Theatres and Summer Stock across the U.S. and Canada. In 2000, he directed and choreographed the Off-Broadway musical Dressing Room. He also staged and choreographed the 30th Anniversary Tour of Mame starring Morgan Brittany of “Dallas” fame. Most recently he directed the Benefit concert Broadway Tonight with Alan Menken and Friends. With twenty-five years of experience he has more than a hundred productions to his credit.
In 2002 - 2003 Dennis was Artistic Director for Western Michigan’s Cherry County Playhouse. Continuing the theatre's "star system" tradition, productions included Sandy Duncan in Oklahoma, Peter Scolari in Barnum, Eddie Mekka in Guys and Dolls and John Davidson in Chicago. Dennis directed both Oklahoma and Guys and Dolls.
Born and educated in New Orleans, Dennis came to New York City in 1966. He has more than 20 years of experience as a professional actor, dancer, and singer on Broadway, Television and in Films. Soon after arriving in New York City, the famous Director/Choreographer, Gower Champion, cast Dennis in the National Tour of Hello Dolly starring Betty Grable. On Broadway, he appeared in the revival of Finian’s Rainbow (with Frank McHugh and Nancy Dussault), Irene (with Debbie Reynolds & Jane Powell) and the legendary A Chorus Line. In 1981 he had the honor of performing with the Broadway Co. of A Chorus Line at the White House for President Reagan. He was seen weekly on The Red Skelton Show and made several appearances on The Carol Burnett Show. Dennis' other T.V. credits include several "soap" appearances and many national commercials. His film credits include, New York, New York, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Annie, Puff n’ Stuff and the cult classic, Chatterbox.
